Meet Dave- Everybody Needs A Dave!
Dave the master parcel packer and warehouse operative. Dave has worked for me for the last 7 years. Working busy Christmas’s and being my much needed ladder man, Dave has seen it all. From the quiet small order days to the never-ending packing days we have now, not sure which he preferred! Every order Dave wraps is with care and attention, he loves seeing all the items of new stock hitting his packing table. When Dave is at work there will always be a mountain of boxes made and the occasional cup of tea!!
Dave is a good friend of mine and I’ve known him since I was 11…. He has always been a laugh to work with, you can’t take offence easily working in the GFHP office! He’s not quite a Capital FM listener like the rest of us, he’ll rush to change the radio to smooth at any chance he gets. Although we have discovered he likes Ed Sheeran, so we do compromise sometimes.
We recently discovered Dave can’t tie his own shoe laces, therefore can’t wrap bows on our lovely gift wraps, he does have neat hand writing though, so we do let him off!
In 2016 I won ‘The Greats Gift Retailer Awards’ for Best Online Retailer, we made it to the finals again in 2017 too. We decided as it was Dave's Wedding Anniversary to reward him with a day off and to take his wife, first class train travel and a lunch fit for a king and queen in the glitzy ballroom of The Grosvenor House Hotel on London's Park Lane. He scrubbed up well!
In the Summer months Dave only works a Monday and spends his time gardening which works well as when the weather turns he is back for his winter job! Dave gets the best of both worlds, speaking to gnomes in the Summer and working with lovely ladies in the winter! He's a bit outnumbered so he is always grateful to see the postman or a courier just incase we have been talking about subjects that need a male backing!
Everybody needs a Dave so a big thank you for being loyal and working every extra hour whilst we were on the school run or didn’t have childcare!
